CREATE THE LIFE YOU WANT TO LIVE

You are the projector and your life is a movie. Do you ever wake up one day dreading the day in front of you. Those tiny moments where all you are doing is trying to catch up with life. Things can be different. You can create the life you want to live.

You can take each moment not for granted but for the blessing it is. The tiny drops of rain on your nose, the breeze you feel in your hair, or the sweet fresh smell of the morning dew is definitely worth a second glance. A hug from you loved one, the laughter of your child, or a sweet snuggle from a furry companion is really a treasure that is given to us to cherish. You don’t have to let life pass you by. You can make every moment a little sweeter and collect lots of beautiful memories at the same time.

There are a few ways that I began to create the life I want to live that I would like to share with you. To perhaps motivate you to make every moment shine a little brighter and built little blocks of memories that you can savor for life. These are the little things that make tiny differences in your everyday but make a huge impact in your life.

PHONE WISDOM

First things first, you probably know exactly where I am heading. To that very convenient sidekick that became our little close companion and assistant. Our phone. I am not here to convince you to stop using it or to try a month without technology. I couldn’t do that myself. Family, kids, work, school all need a way to reach you. Leaving the phone off is definitely not an option for most of us.

What is an option however is to turn it on a little latter in the morning. To not check it every few minutes. To not scroll through a bunch of videos that have little to no impact to the quality of your life. And the oh so important one of not grabbing it on the way to the bathroom. The amount of time you gain is astonishing. It is a huge amount of quality time that you can invest in something else. In something that is so much more important and significant.

DINNER TO SAVOR

Having dinner time together as a family or making time to have dinner with your loved ones or friends. We humans are social creatures. We need to share the little moments we experiences during the day. To get advice, or to see things a little different from the point of view of someone else. There are so many things in life that I thought were huge, important and worth so much worry until I brought them up to my husband who very often tends to show me the better way. Instead of making a mountain out of a tiny hill, which is sometimes a shining talent of mine, his talent is making a tiny hill out of a mountain. Which I so greatly appreciate.

I also appreciate the funny stories from school that my darling little one so eagerly describes. They are worth every moment of my attention. The dinner conversations I share with loved ones are ones that I treasure with all my heart and the ones that put a smile on my face randomly during the day.

DEEP BREATHS

Spending some time in the fresh air everyday. Taking deep breaths and being mindful of the moment. I have the privilege of walking our darling pups. The excitement they invest in the walk is priceless. The adorable little faces that just perk up as soon as they hear that familiar jingle of the dog leashes is so sweet. Taking them for a walk is not only healthy for us humans but so very healthy for our trusting furry friends. The days I walk them feel significantly different than the days I am not able to. After a walk I feel more accomplished, more confident, and especially I feel more love. Love from the eyes of our three little sweethearts, and that is worth every step I take.

COZY READING

Curling up in your favorite spot in your home with a book. Reading is so wonderful. Reading will absolutely help you create the life you want to live. You can experience different worlds. Embark on marvelous adventures. Be a princess in one and a knight in another. Develop skills you never thought were possible. I am wholeheartedly an advocate of reading. There are wonderful writers that invest knowledge in one book that took them decades to learn. The fact that we can learn something in a few hours that took someone years is incredible. I love the feeling of a beautiful day, a cozy couch, a snuggle and a book in my hands. Knowledge is not only power but a gift.

MINDFUL EATING

Eating healthier. This one has got to be up there on the list of creating the life you want to live. The difference in energy I feel from what I consume is very significant. Now I am talking about little healthy choices here and there. Making the salad a little bigger part of the plate. Cutting a little smaller piece of that yummy cake for yourself. Drinking water as a drink of choice. I started with the little things and then the little things grew. It became easier and easier for me to choose healthier choices and to build my as I like to call it “choice muscle”.

FULL OF GRATITUDE

Being grateful. This is most important point. Being grateful changed my life. How I behave in a certain situation. How I respond to people. Gratefulness truly because a very important part of my day. I began to appreciate even the little things. The tiny details of my life that I once so easily overlooked. I would suggest that you set yourself a certain amount of things to be grateful for each day. And as the day progresses see if you can spot anything and everything that you can feel thankfulness for. Make it a game. Being grateful changes your whole state of mind. Your way of being. It is a beautiful ladder to creating the life you want to live.

There are just a few of the ways that I am trying to be better. To do better. To become the person of my true potential. I would love to hear the ways that you create the life you want to live.
